Real Federación Andaluza de Golf

The Federación Andaluza de Golf (Golf Federation of Andalusia) was founded in 1979, following the fusion of the two existing delegations in Andalusia. From 1985 it became a legal entity, as a non-profit making association, incorporated into the Real Federación Española de Golf (Spanish Golf Federation). On May 19th 2006, it was awarded the title of Real Federación Andaluza de Golf (Royal Golf Federation of Andalusia) by His Majesty the King.

It is inscribed in the Sports Associations Register of the Regional Government of Andalusia, a body to which it is answerable, representing golf in the Region, with delegated public functions. Its governing structure, in accordance with legislation, consists of a Governing Board, elected every four years, coinciding with the summer Olympic Games.

The Governing Board is made up of representatives from clubs and sports associations, sportspersons, coaches and referees or umpires. The Governing Board elects the President of the Federation who in turn appoints his Board of Directors. Another responsibility is the appointment of the Accounts Auditor and the Sports Discipline Committee, both of whom are proposed by the President, and act as independent bodies.

The Board of Directors comprises the President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer and Members. The latter may also act as Committee President, assisted by the General Secretary of the Federation.

The Committees are expected to carry out the directives of the Board or Directors, and those functions stipulated in the Statutes. At present the following Committees exist: Children and Juniors, Ladies, Men, Seniors, Professionals, Rules and Courses, Golf Course Marketing, Promotion and Pitch & Putt.

Certain Members of the Board of Directors have specific responsibilities: Adapted Golf and The Environment.
